Trubble among muslims in Sweden!

Yesterday a Swedish program was broadcasted in the Swedish television about what the Imams are saying when they do not know the society are listening. It was Uppdrag Granskning (Swe link) who wanted to examine that by sending out two women in niqab, and with a hidden camera, to ask what they shall do because their husbands have taken a new wife, are beating them and forcing them to have sex. All three things are illegal in Sweden (and both of the women are true believers in Islam).
One, I repeat only One Imam told them to go to the police because you shall never beat your wife.
The rest were not so very good... (some of them said a little bit good things too)

The main mosque in Sweden, the one in the center of Stockholm, where one of the worse! "Even if your husband is beating you and has go another wife you got to have sex with him, and you shall not go to the police because then it is problems . They will put him in jail!" That means that he knew it is illegal to beat but he says she must accept it. I wonder if He, the Imam, a holy person (?) would accept to be beaten and forced to have sex. Don´t think so.. (But he is a man, or?)

In six of the ten mosques the Imams tells the woman they must have sex with their husband, according to the quran. The only times they may say "No!" is when they are ill or have got the period.

Where are the womens rights?
A friend of me said in Facebook "throw the bastards (Imams) out from the country, they have no right to treat the women in that way. I said "No". If we throw them out from Sweden we will just move the problem to another country and their women. (when he said to the moon I accepted, because as far as I know no women are living there)

According to Helena Benaouda (Swe link), the leader of  "Sveriges muslimska råd" (The Swedish muslim council) they know there "have been" a problem with some volunteer imams, but that is because some mosques do not have so much money. Hey, Helena what planet are you from? (I know you are born Swedish and this is your country) All these mosques gets money from the state or their countys (written in the link), and most of them gets money from ex Saudi Arabia. They have well educated Imams (the mosque in Stockholm has it most certenly). And you try to say they are not educated? And tries to make it sound like the government in Sweden do not give you enough money? Wake up! (try to say something to help the muslims instead, because right now people only thinks about who is your daugthers husband, Munir Awad, and thinks it is because of that you have strange opinions...)

Some muslims in Sweden says the program was not good to show because it only makes the islamophobia worse, and helps the racists. Hmm, who helps the racists here? Isn´t it the Imams living in a time that should only be remembered in One thousand ond one night's? As long as people calling themselves muslims and treat their women in this way that religion will have problems in Europe. When they live as a lot of my muslim friends it is no problem.

Finally: When I saw the look in the 12 years old girl in a suburb to Stockholm walking with her hijab looking at her former classmate, my 12 years old daugther, I felt bad. You could see in her eyes she did not have the hijab because of something between her and Allah. It was her parents forcing her to have it probably because they did not the men to look at her as a sexual object. They have not understood the words in the quran, then... (according to the Imam in the muslim school I worked at four years ago.)

The day after the program there was a debate about it in the same chanal.
According to aftonbladet (Swe link) three muslim women had a hard time during the debate. They did not get enought of time to speak, and they where interupted by the men who were rising their voices (very usual to do when you have no core in what you say... try to shut the mouth of the opponent). It ended with the three brave women leaving the studio. They told aftonbladet that "Islam is not a women suppresing religion" and "the men are bad representants for islam".
I agree with the women, but unfortunately their wholy book says a little too much about women... the men wants to read those parts to be able to be kings in their house, but it should be read as those parts in the Bible are read (in Sweden anyway, not in the christian right och catholic church): "It is history and should be so too"

According to DN (Swe link) it is usual that the women do not get any support from the imams. "Many imams gets a work (in a mosque) as family councils, and then they get power in a social work they are not educated in. Then they might answer according to their religiuos moral", a scientist working with islam says.
And I say "a so called religious moral is nothing worth when it hurts and kills people", I know that it is written in sura 4 verse 34 and 38 that the man must take care of the woman economically, and that he has the right to in the last instance beat her if she is not behaving, but that is just a book written by a man to other men to try to suppress the women (but he did it better for the women by the standards of that time). Now it is time to see that we are equal in everything-same intelligence (but in my eyes it seems that a lot of men called imams are less..), same kinds of feelings and same rights according to the only law that is just- the law of the country and not a silly religios law.

Muezzin in Sweden? No thanks!

Before I start: Muezzin is the person calling for the muslim prayer five times a day in muslim countries.

Some years ago I lived in an apartment in a small town in the south of Sweden. I had small children not always sleeping all nights. One morning, it was a red day in the calendar, I heard loud drums outside. I woke up to the drums in one ear and a terrified child screaming in the other. The clock was 7.30 and it was the first of may. The annual workers demonstration!

I hated it. They may demonstrate, but they do not have to disturb everybody else in the outskirt of the town while walking to the square.

What does this have to do with Muslims?

A lot! They are here in Sweden. That's okay, often they are refugees from what could have been their death in their home countries. I have no problem with helping them. Of course they shall be able to pray and hear an imam even in Sweden, just like the Christians have their masses. What I do not agree with the Muslims in Fittja, south of Stockholm is their effort to have a muezzin screaming (link is in Swedish to the original paper of the agenda for the meeting 26/1-12) to gather the prayers. But it is not the first time they have asked for this, according to the lokal TV-chanel ABC they tried 2009 too.

The example above is a good one for me. If you have a believe it should be your private thing, and you shall not disturb others with it. When you have loud speakers screaming “Time to pray!” you are obviously disturbing others, who are not believeing like them. Imam Abboud Sleiman in Karlskrona (Swedish link) seems to be of the same opinion. He said, 2009, when some people living next to the mosque in Karlskrona worried: ”The minaret is just a symbol, according to our religion you are not supposed to disturb others”.

guess one or two muslims will react and say “but the churches are disturbing with their clocks”. That's right, we have churches in Sweden, and have had so for more than 1 000 years. It is a long tradition, and the bells have been ringing since then. Indeed they too might disturb, even if the Christian paper Dagen says the opposite. That’s why some changes have been made in the law about ringing during night (another boring Swedish link for my englsih speaking readers. it is a court descision). Anyway, it is a huge difference here. This has never been a muslim country (hand hopefully it will never be it. Mixed ok, but no muslim laws here, and no muslim “female rights” either, or lack of rights).

The muslims may come back and ask for this the day that we will not read in the paper that 15 schoolgirls died in a fire, and 50 badly damaged, because they where not islamic dressed when they tried to run out from a burning school in Mecka, like I wrote about it in my post "Muslim men, cover your eyes!". The day we will read "New church opened in Mecka, now the church bells will ring on Sundays and the muezzins will call for salat  for muslims", then you may come back!

Something tells me that this will not happen. Just remember this Swedish article from DN, that I wrote about here in english.

If you want to live a pure muslim life with islamic rules and all muslim traditions, feel fre to move to a muslim country. If you instead want to live in a country where you may have freedom to pray, with nobody forcing you, and nobody wanting to cut the hands of your childrens hand when they have stolen a piece of candy in the shop, according to hudud and the quran 5:38, then stay with us and build something good. Just remember that our laws are made for the people, not for the religions. If it is “good” for the religion or the family, but hurts a person then it is forbidden. If a person not muslim makes a painting of your prophet, he has done nothing wrong because he/she is not a muslim. There are tons of pictures of Jesus. It is freedom of criticize politics and religion that makes you be able to live in Sweden. Use that freedom in the right way so that nobody tries to change it to less freedom. 

Niqab in school, muslim dressing

After a long quiet period has the Skolverket (Swedish schoolboard) come to a conclusion about the niqab in school (Swedish link).

I am astonished and ashamed about what they write: First of all they say it is okey to use it, and you are not, as a school, allowed to have a rule against it. (Of course, when you are not in school I do not care, use it or loose it. Not my buissness). According to Aftonbladet (Swedish link) the case that skolverket uses where not even evaluated by the Swedish court-system. They where to afraid for beeing called racists, and now the teachers have to say "No, you may not use niqab in my classroom"

Why am I rejecting it in school?
Well, as a teacher you need to meet the student and see that she understands and really have good contact with her. There are alse the governmental issue. As a teacher you are obliged to grade your students. How will you be able to make sure that the student in niqab, doing the test, is the right person? Having a femal "peeper" looking behind the niqab every lesson? That is a terrible thought.
To make my point even stronger. When I worked at Al Azharskolan, a muslim school, the headmaster said it was forbidden of the same reasons I wrote above. Why shall then we non-muslims at all discuss this issue? If the own people says it is wrong in school for the students (exept for a small extreme group).
Finally: If you use it during an experiment in chemistry it will make it more dangerous because you can not see as good as others when things happens.


Muslim dressing
What's this?
well that is clothes that muslim people wear. Nothing strange, mostly. The niqab is in the eyes of the west a way to supress the woman. (And as far as I know it is not mentioned in the quran at all)
M.I.A used a niqab in a posé whit a finger up high. on the blogg discussion some muslims said it is wrong to dress in muslim clothes if you are not a muslim. Why? I do not care about the religious beliefs and may dress as I want. (One answered if they think you have to be a rastafari to listen to Bob Marley. Good point. While anotherone posted this link, showing that muslims dress as they want and there are noone who shall tell them how to dress (not even other muslims). Right there!!! We are all free (exept for some million supressed women all over the world, often with different religions as a weapon to make noone dare to say stop

Muslim men, cover your eyes!

Many muslim women cover themselves because they want to, according to the Quran. Let them do that, it is their choice.
The issue is instead when some men tries to use a "holy book" to keep their own power and supress the people. When some muslim men forces the women to cover them, like in Iran, and makes rules to supress them even more.
One example is a poor girl in Tehran 2005. She said she was raped by two men. Her sentence was 100 laches for lying about the men so they could have gotten a capital punichment, and having sex. The men got 30-40 laches for having sex, according to BBC. This is just one sad example what happens in Iran.

In Saudi Arabia some men have problems with women having "attractive eyes", according to mail online.
I wonder why the **** the men have to look at the women then? They have the choise to not look. Why do they have to make rules for the women to cover them even more? Why can't the men woh do not want to see the women cover teir own eyes? Are the government in that country so loose minded that they can not stop thinking about sex? Well go to a psyciatric then.

Why couldn't they make rules to have public flogging on the men looking at the women, like the Committe for the promotion of virtue and the preventing of the vice who makes these terrible discriminating rules and controlling that they are followed by letting people die. This so called religious police stopped 2002 the female students (age young- 18 years old)  in a burning school to run from the building because they were not propperly covered. 15 young women died and at least 50 were burnt. As BBC recorded they locked the gates to stop them from coming out because they wre not propper muslim dressed. Shouldn't that so called police get the same punishment? Burn them, the male religious police, but not so they die, but they have to live with the pain!

Sorry for writing so hard words, but I get angry when I read about things like this. Old men treating young women like that. The sad thing is that it is NOT religion they are trying to keep, but the POWER. It is written in their book that all religion is between yourself and Allah, not between you and a government. Don´t they know that, and they call themselves muslims?
All my respect to real muslims, living according to their book, I know a lot of them and I have worked with some of them too in a muslim school. But I can and will not respect muslims (or christians or other religions) who tries to force a religion on others with guns and killing those who will not accept their so called god.
